Hamilton County Reporter
Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen announced the selection of a new city logo at a Hamilton Southeastern School Board meeting on Tuesday. Jensen told the Fishers group they were the first to see the new design.
In August of last year, the City of Noblesville contracted with Indianapolis-based consulting firm Hiron’s for $20,000 to design a new city logo and to refresh Noblesville’s brand.
The new design replaces the current logo that features the historic courthouse that sits in the middle of Noblesville’s historic downtown square.
In August, Jensen said, “The city is seeking to do a whole refresh of our brand to highlight both the history of Noblesville, as well as promote the progress made and growth to come.”
Emily Gaylord, Communications Director for the City of Noblesville, said, “We just thought it was time for a new brand because the current one is a building that belongs to the county. We’d like something that shows a city with a rich history that is ripe for progress.”
After receiving several design options from Hiron’s, Noblesville offered area residents the opportunity to vote one of five options. The new logo was not among them.
That sucks. Especially for the price you paid! The old one has so much more character. You should be fired.
I agree
Again, Our community leaders taking matters into their own hands while ignoring the community’s input. This logo is embarrassing. Please have Emily Gaylord explain how this logo excites the following: “We’d like something that shows a city with a rich history that is ripe for progress”. And why did Jensen share this with the Fishers group as they were the first to see the new design? I am disappointed in our governing leadership on so many levels.
There is so much that needs to be done, why pick on the logo, it’s boring and says nothing about our city except the date it was founded.
By changing the city logo from featuring the courthouse tower, it promotes the widespread belief that there is petty disfunction between county and city governments.
Noblesville is the county seat. I do not want the city to turn it’s back to that fact.
The new logo is generic, not new and fresh. We do not need to erase the outstanding architectural feature of our city. Leave it alone .
Although they totally deny it, the Star of David is now part of the Noblesville logo. Just remove the “N” in the middle and you have the Star of David left in the background. There’s no denying it.
