With the weather warming, look for more road construction projects underway in and around Fishers.  There will be work starting on some new roundabouts and many other updates of interest in this latest message.

Here is the listing, for the work week beginning Monday, April 28, as provided by the City of Fishers:

STATE ROAD 37 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

As of Monday (3/10),  the contractor has begun reconstruction and interchange tie in on the west side of 141st street. To do this work as quickly as possible, this will require 141st St. to be closed on the west side. The closure will be in place from SR37 thru and west of Trade Center Dr. This work will involve new curbs, medians, storm sewer, subgrade treatment and pavement. See business access map here.

STATE ROAD 37 AND 141ST STREET

The westside of 141st St. at SR37 has closed for
the next phase of construction.  Traffic has transitioned to the eastside,
with SR37 north and southbound lanes remaining open. Please review
detour routes to plan ahead during this time.  Thank you for your continued

CLEAR PATH IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

I-465 & I-69
Drivers will see an increase in construction along the I-69 corridor in the coming months. This work will focus on reconfiguring the interchange at I-465 and I-69. New ramps will provide direct movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. Binford Blvd. will also be reconstructed to separate local traffic from traffic entering and exiting I-69 and I-465. Access to I-69 from Binford Blvd. will remain open.

Short-Term Closures

Friday, April 25 (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

  • Two lanes closed on southbound I-69 from 96th Street to 82nd Street
  • Ramp from 96th Street to southbound I-69 closed
  • Ramps from State Road 13, 136th Street, State Road 37, 116th Street and 106th Street to southbound I-69; short-term closures (12 a.m. to 6 a.m.)

Friday, April 25 (9 p.m.) to Monday, April 28 (6 a.m.)

  • Ramp from Keystone Avenue to eastbound I-465 closed
  • Three lanes closed on eastbound I-465 from Westfield Boulevard to 82nd Street

A mobile shoulder cleaning operation is scheduled overnight Thursday, April 24, through Saturday, April 26, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Long-Term Closures

  • Ramp from 56th Street to I-465
  • Ramp from Allisonville Road to I-465 eastbound
  • Ramp from northbound Binford Boulevard to I-465 westbound

PROJECTS NORTH OF 116TH STREET

 

146TH STREET & ALLISONVILLE ROAD – HAMILTON COUNTY PROJECT

Please use extreme caution and follow the 35mph posted speed limit when traveling through the work zone. Left turns are prohibited in all directions at the intersection. Periodic lane closures and intermittent stoppages may be necessary to complete certain work items. Please watch for flaggers and workers in and around the construction zone.
Bridge crews are continuing work on the widening of the eastbound bridge over the White River. The contractor is continuing to work on storm sewer installation, subgrade preparation, and paving operations. Bridge and MSE wall construction at the intersection is ongoing between the eastbound and westbound travel lanes. The contractor is working on the roundabout construction and installing barrier wall within the construction zone. The contractor anticipates working on seeding and sodding in the coming weeks. Construction vehicles will be entering and exiting from this work area, so please be vigilant and follow the 35mph posted speed limit when driving through the construction zone.

121ST STREET AND HOOSIER ROAD – FUTURE ROUNDABOUT

Drivers can expect to see more construction activity at this intersection as the contractor works on utility relocation – keep an eye out for periodic lane restrictions Monday – Friday 9AM – 3PM

131ST STREET AND HOWE ROAD – FUTURE ROUNDABOUT

Drivers can expect to see more construction activity at this intersection as the contractor works on utility relocation – keep an eye out for periodic lane restrictions Monday – Friday 9AM – 3PM.

ROAD RESTRICTION ON SUNBLEST BLVD AT LANTERN ROAD

The contractor will require a two-day closure of Sunblest Blvd at Lantern Road starting after 9 am on Monday, April 28, possibly lasting until Tuesday evening. This will impact bus routes. Barricades will be at Sunblest Blvd and Ellipse Pkwy, but buses should be able to access stops between Ellipse and Lantern. 136TH STREET WIDENING – ROAD CLOSURE

As of Tuesday, April 1, 136th Street between Prairie Baptist Road and Cyntheanne Road has been closed to through traffic as construction begins on the reconstruction of the roadway.  Access to all of the homes and fire station off of 136th Street will be maintained only to eastbound traffic.  Westbound traffic will need to follow the attached detour route.  Access into Hunters Run and Silverton will be off of Prairie Baptist or Cyntheanne Road.  See a map of this closure here.

SOUTHEASTERN PARKWAY RESTRICTIONS

Beginning on or after April 21st, expect to see lane restrictions along Southeastern Parkway, Cyntheanne Road and 126th Street as utilities perform aerial work along the roadway.  Flaggers will be in place between 9AM and 3PM.

PROJECTS SOUTH OF 116TH STREET

96TH STREET AND THE NICKEL PLATE TRAIL

On Monday April 28th, between 9am-3pm there will be an eastbound lane restriction in place on the outer lanes. This will take place between Hague Road and the entrance to Menards.
On Tuesday, April 29th and Wednesday, April 30th from 9pm to 6am, each night there will be an overnight lane closure impacting eastbound lanes.
96TH STREET AND ALLISONVILLE ROAD INTERSECTION

The 96th & Allisonville roundabout is now open and accessible in all directions, making travel smoother and safer at one of the main gateways to our City. Please proceed with caution as this is still an active construction site. Expect lane restrictions in all directions on Tuesday April 29th between 9am and 3pm.

On Wednesday April 30th there will be overnight lane restrictions in place from 9pm-6am in all directions.

2025 ROAD RESURFACING PROJECT 
Beginning on Monday, May 5th our contractor will begin curb and curb ramp work in the Sawgrass Subdivision. Homeowners will be notified via door hangers prior to any curb reconstruction near their home. After ADA ramp and curb reconstruction is completed, those areas will be restored with topsoil and seed. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to water the seed for the seed to germinate. Prior to road resurfacing, residents will be notified via street signage for street parking restrictions. HERITAGE PARK BRIDGE – TRAIL CLOSURE
The City of Fishers has partnered with the City of Carmel, Clay Township, Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, Hamilton County, and Delaware Township to connect Heritage Park at White River and Carmel’s Hazel Landing Park with a bridge over White River. This new amenity will provide enhanced connectivity between the two communities, as well as new recreational opportunities for our residents. Click here for an aerial view.
