Local road construction update the week of March 31

With the weather beginning to warm, look for more road projects to pop up throughout the area.  Along with the updates for ongoing projects, some new localized updates are on this week’s list.

Here is the full listing of area road construction for the work week beginning Monday, March 31, as provided by the City of Fishers:

 

STATE ROAD 37 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

*LANE CLOSURE UPDATE*

As of Monday (3/10),  the contractor has begun reconstruction and interchange tie in on the west side of 141st street. To do this work as quickly as possible, this will require 141st St. to be closed on the west side. The closure will be in place from SR37 thru and west of Trade Center Dr. This work will involve new curbs, medians, storm sewer, subgrade treatment and pavement. See business access map here.

STATE ROAD 37 AND 141ST STREET

The westside of 141st St. at SR37 has closed for
the next phase of construction.  Traffic has transitioned to the eastside,
with SR37 north and southbound lanes remaining open. Please review
detour routes to plan ahead during this time.  Thank you for your continued
patience and remember to drive cautiously and safely through construction

CLEAR PATH IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

I-465 & I-69
Drivers will see an increase in construction along the I-69 corridor in the coming months. This work will focus on reconfiguring the interchange at I-465 and I-69. New ramps will provide direct movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. Binford Blvd. will also be reconstructed to separate local traffic from traffic entering and exiting I-69 and I-465. Access to I-69 from Binford Blvd. will remain open.

Short-Term Closures

Friday, March 28 (9PM to 6AM)

  • 82nd Street to I-69 SB closed (starting 10pm)
  • Single-Lane closure on I-69 SB ramp to I-465 SB (starting 10PM)
  • Alternating, single-lane closures on eastbound and westbound 82nd Street

Saturday, March 29 (9PM to 9AM)

  • Alternating, single-lane closures on eastbound and westbound 82nd street.

Long-Term Closures

  • Ramp from 56th Street to I-465
  • Ramp from Allisonville Road to I-465 eastbound
  • Ramp from northbound Binford Boulevard to I-465 westbound

UTILITY WORK ON SOUTHEASTERN PARKWAY

On the week of March 31 the contractor will be doing utility work on Southeastern Parkway between Cyntheanne Road and N 113th Street. Proceed through the area with caution – work will go from 9am to 3 pm.

PROJECTS NORTH OF 116TH STREET

 

146TH STREET & ALLISONVILLE ROAD – HAMILTON COUNTY PROJECT

Please be advised, beginning on or after Thursday, March 13, 2025, drivers should expect additional construction traffic and intermittent short duration stoppages along 146th street within the project limits for material deliveries during the next several weeks. Please use extreme caution while driving through this construction zone.

136TH STREET WIDENING – ROAD CLOSURE

Beginning on Tuesday, April 1, 136th Street between Prairie Baptist Road and Cyntheanne Road will be closed to through traffic as construction begins on the reconstruction of the roadway.  Access to all of the homes and fire station off of 136th Street will be maintained only to eastbound traffic.  Westbound traffic will need to follow the attached detour route.  Access into Hunters Run and Silverton will be off of Prairie Baptist or Cyntheanne Road.  See a map of this closure here.


MUNICIPAL DRIVE – LANE RESTRICTION

Beginning March 27 there will be lane restrictions in place to allow for our contractor to
replace the concrete steps by the Nickel Plate Trail swings along with the handrailing.
See schedule below for all the details:
-Thursday March 27 and Friday 28 – CC&T will be removing the stairs, on these days
there will be a northbound lane restriction on Municipal Drive.-Monday March 31 and Tuesday April 1 the contractor will be pouring steps.  There will
be a periodic lane restriction on westbound traffic of 116th after 9am on both days. 

-Wednesday April 2 – Concrete work will be continued. There will be a northbound lane restriction on Municipal Drive.

UTILITY WORK ON SUNBLEST AVENUE
Beginning on March 14 the contractor will begin setting up for a water line installation, keep an eye out for a restriction on the right turn lane onto Lantern Road. Drivers will still be able to turn right onto Lantern. Please proceed with caution through this intersection.

PROJECTS SOUTH OF 116TH STREET

 

UTILITY WORK ON SOUTH STREET AND LANTERN ROAD
Watch out for intermittent lane restrictions on South Street and Lantern Road these will be in place from 9am to 3pm. The contractor will be conducting utilility work in the area for the District South/CityView Developments.

BRIGHTSPEED FIBER INSTALLATION
Brightspeed will be installing fiber throughout the following neighborhoods: Bridger Pines, Bridger Pines West and Arbor Pines. Work will be conducted in the utility easement behind the sidewalk.

96TH STREET AND THE NICKEL PLATE TRAIL
Please be advised that beginning April 7, the contractor will be closing Lantern Road between 116th and South Street, in order to conduct utilility work in the area for the District South/CityView Developments. This closure is expected to last three days and is weather permitting. See map of closure here.

 

96TH STREET AND ALLISONVILLE ROAD INTERSECTION
The 96th & Allisonville roundabout is now open and accessible in all directions, making travel smoother and safer at one of the main gateways to our City. Please proceed with caution as this is still an active construction site. Be on the look out for intermittant lane restrictions. 
HERITAGE PARK BRIDGE – TRAIL CLOSURE
The City of Fishers has partnered with the City of Carmel, Clay Township, Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, Hamilton County, and Delaware Township to connect Heritage Park at White River and Carmel’s Hazel Landing Park with a bridge over White River. This new amenity will provide enhanced connectivity between the two communities, as well as new recreational opportunities for our residents. Click here for an ariel view. Construction is expected to occur Monday through Saturday beginning at 7 a.m. The bridge is expected to be complete in August 2025.
