Fishers area road construction report for the week of March 17

As we get further into March, road construction ramps up once again in our area.

First, one update that did not make this listing is the 146th Street and Allisonville Road Hamilton County project.  Watch for more lane closures in coming weeks as material deliveries ramp up at that construction site.

Also, there is a road closure to the west of State Road 37 on 141st Street.

There are a number of other projects and lane closures in this week’s update.

Here is the list for the work week starting Monday, March 17, as provided by the City of Fishers:

 

STATE ROAD 37 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

*LANE CLOSURE UPDATE*

As of Monday (3/10),  the contractor has begun reconstruction and interchange tie in on the west side of 141st street. To do this work as quickly as possible, this will require 141st St. to be closed on the west side. The closure will be in place from SR37 thru and west of Trade Center Dr. This work will involve new curbs, medians, storm sewer, subgrade treatment and pavement. See business access map here.

STATE ROAD 37 AND 141ST STREET

The westside of 141st St. at SR37 has closed for
the next phase of construction.  Traffic has transitioned to the eastside,
with SR37 north and southbound lanes remaining open. Please review
detour routes to plan ahead during this time.  Thank you for your continued
patience and remember to drive cautiously and safely through construction

CLEAR PATH IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

I-465 & I-69
Drivers will see an increase in construction along the I-69 corridor in the coming months. This work will focus on reconfiguring the interchange at I-465 and I-69. New ramps will provide direct movements from eastbound I-465 and northbound I-465 to northbound I-69. Binford Blvd. will also be reconstructed to separate local traffic from traffic entering and exiting I-69 and I-465. Access to I-69 from Binford Blvd. will remain open.

  • Ramp from 56th Street to I-465
  • Ramp from Allisonville Road to I-465 eastbound
  • Ramp from northbound Binford Boulevard to I-465 westbound

UTILITY WORK ON SOUTHEASTERN PARKWAY

On the week of March 17 the contractor will be doing utility work on Southeastern Parkway between Cyntheanne Road and N 113th Street. Proceed through the area with caution – work will go from 9am to 3 pm.

PROJECTS NORTH OF 116TH STREET

146TH STREET & ALLISONVILLE ROAD – HAMILTON COUNTY PROJECT

Please be advised, as of Wednesday, February 5,2025, the contractor has implemented a traffic phase shift for eastbound 146th Street. Traffic has been shifted to the south and will now utilize the bridge carrying eastbound 146th Street over the White River. The contractor will utilize construction barrels to delineate the driving area from the construction zone. See graphic below for the new lane configuration.

UTILITY WORK ON SUNBLEST AVENUE

Beginning on March 14 the contractor will begin setting up for a water line installation that will take place over the weekend, keep an eye out for a restriction on the right turn lane onto Lantern Road. Drivers will still be able to turn right onto Lantern. Please proceed with caution through this intersection.

PROJECTS SOUTH OF 116TH STREET

 

UTILITY WORK ON SOUTH STREET

Watch out for intermittent lane restrictions on South Street and Lantern Road these will be in place from 9am to 3pm. The contractor will be conducting utilility work in the area for the District South/CityView Developments.

BRIGHTSPEED FIBER INSTALLATION

Brightspeed will be installing fiber throughout the following neighborhoods: Bridger Pines, Bridger Pines West and Arbor Pines. Work will be conducted in the utility easement behind the sidewalk.

96TH STREET AND THE NICKEL PLATE TRAIL – UTLITY WORK WITH OVERNIGHT LANE CLOSURE

 

On the week of March 17 there will be an overnight lane closure on Westbound lanes of 96th street between the entrance to Menards and Hague Rd . This closure will go from March 19 to March 21 beginning at 9pm and ending at 6am the following day.

 

96TH STREET AND ALLISONVILLE ROAD INTERSECTION

 

The 96th & Allisonville roundabout is now open and accessible in all directions, making travel smoother and safer at one of the main gateways to our City. Please proceed with caution as this is still an active construction site. Be on the look out for intermittent lane restrictions.

HERITAGE PARK BRIDGE – TRAIL CLOSURE

The City of Fishers has partnered with the City of Carmel, Clay Township, Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, Hamilton County, and Delaware Township to connect Heritage Park at White River and Carmel’s Hazel Landing Park with a bridge over White River. This new amenity will provide enhanced connectivity between the two communities, as well as new recreational opportunities for our residents. Click here for an ariel view. Construction is expected to occur Monday through Saturday beginning at 7 a.m. The bridge is expected to be complete in August 2025.
