It was quite an honor to be invited to speak before the Fishers Newcomers Club Thursday afternoon. I gave a short speech and took many questions.
The ladies asked questions about Fishers and what is happening around the city. Some included how the city does (and does not) cater to the needs of senior citizens, the status of various road projects and development around the city.
My thanks to the Newcomers Club for the invitation. It was a pleasant experience for me.
With all due respect, the Drag performers were NOT “scantily” dressed and performing in a “sexualized” manner. I was there! My grandchildren were there! People – adults, seniors and teens and children all were having fun. I wonder what frame or lens that those who think it was disturbing are looking through. Makes me wonder why they’re so upset. Don’t like it – don’t go. No one was forcing anyone to attend! Like elections – at least for now – We make choices. Let’s keep Fishers an inclusive community where we value differing opinions without having to regulate them or events , as those who spoke at the City Council wish to happen! I appreciate those who put lots of time and effort into making this a fun family event! Again – don’t like it – don’t go!
