Allisonville Road now closed at 146th Street

Hamilton County Highway officials warned us in advance, and now it is here.  Allisonville Road is closed at 146th Street for an estimated 90 days.

Indy area television news crews were doing live reports Friday morning, showing viewers that, yes, as announced, Allisonville Road is closed at that location.

This is part of a major construction project that will create a roundabout at ground level on Allisonville Road and 146th Street will be on an overpass above Allisonville.  There will be ramps to connect 146th Street to Allisonville Road once the work is complete.

  1. I drive through that intersection twice a day to and from work going north on Allisonville and turning left onto 146th St. I expected a madhouse this morning with people figuring it out but it wasn’t bad at all. Hopefully that continues to hold true for the next 3 months.

    1. So did you take Harrison Pkway or 37 to get to 146th this morning? Also, where you get onto 146th from Harrison can be extremely tricky right now. I literally saw a car making a left turn from there onto 146th within feet from oncoming traffic.

      1. I live right in that area. I’d think 37 is the best option but for me, taking Herriman Blvd to the stoplight at 146th St worked just fine. I definitely never try to turn left off of Harrison Pkwy onto 146th St. I’d also prefer not to add extra traffic through the neighborhood and in front of the elementary school.

        1. Hey, thanks for the response. I read a few months ago that there’s going to be construction starting on the other side of Herriman boulevard across from the U-Haul place and whatever that dealership parking lot is. That land was already purchased by whatever company is relocating to this area. I forget the name of the project, but it was supposed to be starting at any point now. They might be postponing it due to this current detour situation. But I will dig around

        2. Just quickly adding to my comment above. I found out the construction project name. Dahlmann Enterprises is to begin constructing a warehouse and maintenance facility between 146th and 141st adjacent to Nickel Plate trail basically between that elementary school and the U-Haul / Car dealership parking lot. I think it’s very interesting that most people do not know that this is actually the city of Noblesville in this area and not Fishers.
