2022 was a busy podcasting year for LarryInFishers.com

I thank all my podcast guests from the past year.  I selected 10 podcasts to highlight here, but keep in mind there were many other podcasts of note in 2022.

So, here is 2022 in review, podcasts by Larry Lannan.

 

Kaitlin Lange, long-time Statehouse reporter for the IndyStar, has started a new job covering the same beat for State Affairs.  I spoke with Kaitlin about her new job and the upcoming legislative session.

 

The Recovery Cafe will be opening soon in Fishers.  Joylynn Foli & Bryan Beasley talk about the new nonprofit.

 

Fishers City Council President Todd Zimmerman will seek another term on the Council.  He talks about that and much more in this podcast.

 

 

Local high school students Kate Lantzer and Casey Alexander helped with podcast interviews with Hamilton Southeastern School Board candidates.  I brought them back together to talk about that experience.

 

Carrie Lively is the Executive Director of the Pursuit Institute, a career technical education (CTE) program to be available to HSE students.  She talks about that with Larry in this podcast.

 

Sarah Sandquist became Fishers Parks & Rec Director in 2018.  She is preparing to leave her post as of December 1, 2022.  In this podcast, Sarah looks forward to her new job in Champaign, Illinois and looks back on her years in Fishers.

Brad Boyer is seeking another term on the Hamilton Southeastern School Board.  He joined high school students Kate Lantzer and Casey Alexander, along with Larry, and talked about his candidacy.

 

 

Jackie Howell is a candidate for HSE School Board, District1.  Larry asked two students to join in the questioning: Kate Lantzer, Senior at HSE High School….and Casey Alexander, Junior at Fishers High School.

 

 

Fishers Public Health Director Monica Heltz talks about the new COVID vaccine that is now available through the Fishers Health Department, and much more in this podcast.

 

How are people in Hamilton County dealing with the skyrocketing cost of housing?  Andrea Davis of HAND Inc. & Nancy Ramsey from Family Promise of Hamilton County join Larry in this podcast to talk about how many locally are struggling with housing.

 

For the 10th time, Fishers is hosting the annual Blues Fest this Labor Day weekend.  Marissa Deckert talks about that and more in this podcast

Jake Reardon McSoley has joined the staff of Mayor Scott Fadness in recent weeks.  Mr. McSoley and Mayor Fadness both joined Larry in this podcast.

 

The Fishers YMCA has been a focal part of the local community for many years.  The local Y is gearing-up for a big fund-raising even on Labor Day of special interest to the cycling community.  Here is my conversation with Jennifer Mealy, Senior Wellness Director at the Fishers YMCA.

 

Local publisher Tom Britt has his Towne Post Network headquarters in downtown Fishers, but is opening a new franchise for his magazine product in Muncie.  He talks about that and much more in this podcast.

There is a news service covering state government from the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis that is only a couple of weeks old.  Niki Kelly is Editor-in-Chief for the Indiana Capital Chronicle.  She talks about the journalistic enterprise in this podcast.

 

 

Fishers is turning 150 years old this year and a look back at the history of the area will be part of the celebration.  Mayor Scott Fadness and city PR Director Ashley Elrod talk more about that in this podcast.

 

 

Jimmie Lake is the new Chief Operations Office for the Hamilton Southeastern Schools.  He joins Larry for this podcast.

 

PFLAG is an organization supporting families with LGBTQ members.  I spoke to two people with the local Fishers chapter of PFLAG

The Fishers High School We The People team finished second in the nation during the 2022 competition.  Coach Liz Paternoster and team member Abbie Kilgore talk about this year’s competition.

Yulia Tolstikov-Mast has been to Poland, volunteering to assist Ukrainan refugees fleeing the war.  She tells her story of what she experienced in this podcast.

 

 

Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness and local entrepreneur John Wechsler have worked together for more than ten years, creating projects like Launch Fishers and the Indiana IOT Lab.  John is preparing to move away from those projects to start another new enterprise.  In this podcast, they discuss what they have accomplished.

 

 

Dr. Yvonne Stoke talks about a number of Hamilton Southeastern School District issues in this podcast.

 

Plans for a new Fishers City Hall & Arts complex are moving forward.  Mayor Scott Fadness and Deputy Mayor Elliott Hultgren join the podcast and talk about the plans.

 

Monica Heltz is Fishers Public Health Director and has been with the city’s Health Department from its inception.  She talks about COVID and many other activities of the local health department.

 

 

The Fishers Armed Services Commission (also known as the FASC) is so new it has had only two meetings as of the recording of this podcast April 14th.  El Ahlwardt & Elliott Hultgren discuss what the commission has done so far and where it may be headed.

 

 

Fishers is set for outdoor concerts at the Nickel Plate Amphitheater this summer season.  Shannon Jones & Marissa Deckert join the podcast to talk about that.

Now that the 2022 session of the Indiana General Assembly is history, I spoke with State Senator Fady Qaddoura for his perspective on what did, and did not, happen in this short session.
