City: 126th to be closed east-west at SR 37, Thursday-Saturday

The City of Fishers is planning a closure of east-west traffic on 126th Street and State Road 37.  the temporary closure is scheduled to begins at 7am Thursday, January 16 through Saturday, January 18 at 6pm.  According to the city engineering department, this is needed to handle work to be done by Citizens Energy.

STATE ROAD 37 
A temporary closure will take place on the east and west approaches of 126th Street for utility relocation work. These closures are needed in order for Citizen’s Energy Group to open-cut across 126th Street. The closures will occur simultaneously, beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, January 16 and reopen by 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 18.For the closure west of SR37, motorists will continue to have access to Lockhart Cadillac from SR37. Motorists needing to get to Ford Drive or west of that should come in from the west (Allisonville Road, Lantern Road). For the closure east of SR37, eastbound local traffic will be detoured south to Reynolds Drive. Westbound business traffic will be detoured north to Parkside Drive or south to Reynolds Drive.

116TH STREET
The right lane of westbound 116th Street between Lantern Road and Municipal Drive will be closed between 9 a.m. and  3 p.m. to allow for utility relocation work.

LANTERN ROAD 

Lantern Road is closed to through traffic, beginning south of 116th Street to Fishers Pointe Boulevard, as part of the Downtown Infrastructure Improvement Project to improve the sanitary sewer underneath Lantern Road. Access to Lantern Road remains open from the north (via 116th Street) for local residential, business, and Fishers Elementary School traffic. The closure for this portion of the project is expected to last approximately 90 days. Check out the project Fact Sheet to learn more.
