Today is only the second day of candidate filings for Hamilton County municipal elections, but we already have some news to report.
Mike Colby, a former member of the Fishers Town Council, has announced his candidacy for the Northwest Council District, also referred to as District 2. Incumbent Selina Stoller is expected to run for reelection in that same district.
In a Facebook post announcing his candidacy, Colby cited his experience as a town councilor in Fishers and his role as the President of the River Glen Homeowners Association. He listed the main issues of his campaign as transportation and economic development for the Fishers community. His release also says the council needs “to continue to focus our community’s quality of life programs in order to bring more jobs to Fishers.”
Colby is an Army veteran and served in Vietnam.
In another race, Jackie Bowen has officially filed her candidacy for Fishers City Clerk. The incumbent clerk, Jennifer Kehl, is expected to run for another term.
Incumbent at-large Councilwoman Cecilia Coble, officially filed her paperwork to run for another term.
