Fishers has a week of road construction coming up, with the major work east of I-69 on 116th Street front and center.  But there are other projects around the city.

116TH STREET

A partial closure of 116th Street between Exit Five Parkway/IKEA Way and Cumberland Road will be in effect from March 30 at 9 p.m. to April 10 at 5 a.m. to allow crews from Marathon Pipeline to remove casing from their existing pipeline.

  • Westbound 116th Street between Exit Five Parkway/IKEA Way and Cumberland Road will be closed. Traffic will be detoured north on Cumberland Road to Exit Five Parkway/121st Street and south on Exit Five Parkway to 116th Street.
  • Eastbound 116th Street will be directed to drive in the westbound lanes of 116th Street from Exit Five Parkway/IKEA Way to the signal just west of Cumberland Road at Kroger. Traffic will then switch back to the eastbound lanes.
  • Southbound Cumberland Road will be closed from 126th Street to 121st Street.
  • Westbound 121st Street will be directed to go north on Cumberland Road to 126th Street and then continue west on 126th Street.
  • Westbound drivers are encouraged to detour south on Cumberland Road from 116th Street to 106th Street to access I-69 and other Westside destinations.

Work is underway on the new traffic signal on 116th Street just west of Olio Road. During this time, the outside lanes of 116th Street will be restricted between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to allow the contractor room to work.

There will be periodic lane restrictions along 116th Street and in various roundabouts for the next two weeks as workers perform landscape maintenance.

CUMBERLAND ROAD

On Wednesday, April 5, southbound Cumberland Road just south of 96th Street will be closed from 7 am to 3 pm while the water company installs a water tap for the roundabout.  All others legs of the roundabout will be open.

I-69 AND CAMPUS PARKWAY

Milestone Contractors has begun mobilizing cranes and other equipment and setting a temporary concrete barrier wall along I-69 at Campus Parkway Exit 210. Work will require alternating lane closures on northbound and southbound I-69 between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Lane closures may recur each night through the end of the week depending on weather and progress. NORTH STREET

Beginning Feb. 27 until April 30, North Street will be periodically restricted between Lantern Road and Municipal Drive as crews deliver building materials. During this time, several parking stalls will be unavailable on the south side of North Street, west of Maple Street.  Flaggers will be onsite to help direct traffic while materials are being delivered.

DUKE ENERGY MAINTENANCE

Duke Energy will be in various locations throughout the City performing routine pole maintenance.  Flaggers will be onsite directing traffic where necessary.
