Walsh Construction Company plans to temporarily close up to three lanes of Interstate 69 for overnight work this week at the 106th Street interchange bridges being built in Fishers.
Starting at 10 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31 and Tuesday, Nov. 1, up to three lanes of northbound and southbound I-69 will be closed near mile 204 until 6 a.m. the next day.
Starting at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2 and Thursday, Nov. 3, up to three lanes of northbound I-69 and up to two lanes of the northbound Exit 5 ramp to 116th Street and State Road 37 will be closed until 6 a.m. the next day. At least one lane of the exit ramp will remain open.
Work is dependent on favorable weather, and construction schedules are subject to change.
Additional lane closures will be scheduled for the upcoming weeks. Crews will be installing overhead signs, removing temporary overhang platforms used during the construction of the bridge decks, and painting bridge beams. Specific closure schedules will be announced as work progresses.
Motorists are reminded that the speed limit near the construction zone is reduced to 55 mph and may be reduced to 45 mph during overnight working hours. Motorists are advised to pay attention to work zone warning signs, follow posted speed limits, avoid distractions, and drive sensibly near construction zones.
